To ensure that your student is scheduled for bus transportation starting on the first day of school, Go Riteway Transportation is asking you to submit your request on the 2023-2024 Transportation Form; by Friday, August 18. The request form is on this webpage and is also part of the Online Registration process which opens August 1. If your request is not received by August 18, it could take up to a week to secure bus transportation. Go Riteway will work diligently to meet your students’ needs as soon as possible. Rules for School Bus Riders
Be on time for the bus-help keep the bus on schedule.
Be careful in approaching bus stops; walk on left, toward on-coming traffic.
Reach assigned seat in bus without disturbing or crowding other pupils.
Do not stand or extend your head, arms, or hands out of windows, or move about, or leave or enter the bus while it is in motion.
While you are in the bus, you are in the driver's charge and you must obey the driver, and/or the safety patrol person on duty, promptly and cheerfully.
Help keep the bus clean, sanitary, and orderly.
Standards for the bus riders.
The following are unacceptable behavior traits:
Swearing or objectionable language.
Fighting, pushing, or tripping another student.
Throwing objects.
Creating unnecessary confusion or noise.
Standing or moving about when the bus is in motion.
Eating or littering on the bus.
Damage to seats or other bus equipment; must be paid for by the rider.
Failure to follow the bus drivers' directives.
Use of tobacco products on or near the school bus.
Possession of any dangerous objects.
Remember that loud talking, laughing or unnecessary confusion diverts the driver's attention and may result in a serious accident.
Be courteous to fellow pupils, bus driver, and student patrol officers.
In leaving the bus, remain seated until the bus fully stops. If you cross the road, do so in front of the bus after making sure the highway is clear, and after checking with the bus driver for his signal to cross. Students should cross ten feet in front of the bus.
Bus passengers are to leave the bus only at their regular stop. If the parent of any rider files a written request, in advance, with the principal, the bus driver will permit the passenger(s) to leave the bus at the other point on the route designated by the parent.
Bus passengers should board buses at the loading zone for their school. Students must walk from the school to the bus. (Most accidents occur from school to bus.)
