Clinton Community School District utilizes a 1:1 (One to One) initiative to ensure that students have an electronic device available to them throughout the school day. Students at the Junior-Senior High School also have the opportunity to bring their devices home with them.
CCSD uses the 1:1 initiative to provide another educational tool for teachers to utilize in the classroom, as well as ensuring that all students have the technology needed to participate and succeed.
Student Responsibility
As they are an integral part of the school experience, students are responsible for taking care of the chromebooks that have been assigned to them. This includes ensuring that they are charged, with the student, and protected from damage. While we understand that things happen, having a chromebook in good working order helps make the education process smoother.
Chromebook Rules
Student’s cannot have more than one loaner chromebook out at a time.
Loaner chromebooks will not be handed out if a chromebooks isn’t charged. There is a charging station in the library, as well as a charging space in classrooms.
If a student forgets their chromebook, they may receive a loaner chromebook
If a student forgets their loaner chromebook, they will not receive another loaner chromebook.
A student is given 4 forgotten chromebooks per semester. At the 5th and 6th forgotten device, they will receive a loaner and will get a referral, minor and major respectively.
A 7th loaner will not be given for a forgotten chromebook
At the start of each semester, this will be reset.
If a student’s chromebook isn’t working:
The chromebook should be brought to the library manager to gather information and submit a repair ticket, if needed.
If the device needs repairs, the student will be issued a loaner chromebook.
For the intent of following the earlier policy, the loaner chromebook will be treated as the student’s primary device while their original is in for repairs.
For example, Student brings in chromebook A for repair. They are issued chromebook B in the meantime. If they forget chromebook B at home, they will be issued chromebook C as a loaner, if they are able to have one issued.
