Welcome to the Clinton Community School District Technology Department Website.
Our mission is to bring technology into the classroom for educators to utilize as a tool to aid in the learning process. The district's technology is not meant to replace teaching or educators but rather be a tool utilized by educators as they see fit to enhance the learning process and engage learners.
Our district has a 1:1 program from 1st grade on up to our Seniors. What this means is that a device is available to every student at every moment of the day to be used at the discretion of the educator. Further, this means our students do not have to share a device or a lab throughout the school day.
We also offer a Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) program and highly encourage our Juniors and Seniors to take advantage of this program. BYOD allows students to bring in a personal device as long as it has a keyboard and utilize that device for educational purposes. For those students who do not have a device or do not wish to bring a personal device to school, the district provides Chromebooks for students to use throughout the school year.
The idea behind a BYOD program is to allow students to become more acclimated to a specific operating system such as Windows or Mac OSX. As a district, we understand that our students will most likely not use Chromebooks in College or the work environment. Because of this, we encourage our Juniors and Seniors especially to begin utilizing a Windows or MacBook in order to become familiar with the operating system of their choice and also begin learning how to properly take care of these devices.
Beyond the 1:1 environment the Clinton Community School District utilizes many other technologies to assist in student learning. This includes the use of projectors, Smartboards, robotics, green screen technologies, and many others.
