BELOIT COLLEGE GUIDES

Counselor Edition
BELOIT COLLEGE, WISCONSIN
New Engineering Physics program
Beloit’s department of Physics, Engineering, and Astronomy launched a new Engineering Physics major this fall that prepares students for careers in engineering, science, and beyond, while also allowing for a well-rounded liberal arts education. Students experience the benefits of a theoretical physics education, enriched by courses in applied engineering and design projects. The new program offers direct tie-ins with the highly regarded Oak Ridge National Labs in Tennessee.
Sports, Fitness, and Recreation Career Channel launches
Starting as soon as their first year, Beloit students are welcome to join a Career Channel — a professional community of peers, faculty, alumni, and outside experts. Each Channel gives students access to resources that expand and deepen their interests: internships and field experiences, alumni mentors and faculty advisors, on-campus events and off-campus opportunities. And every Channel makes tangible connections between campus and career.
The newly launched Sports, Fitness, and Recreation Career Channel gives students tools to direct their enthusiasm for sports and fitness into a growing field with many career possibilities. Faculty, staff, and alumni from across the college and around the world mentor these students, helping them take advantage of on-campus and off-campus opportunities, internships, and events that relate to the business of sports, fitness, and recreation. The result  — alumni with careers as sports anchors, game designers, and innovative product developers.

College ROTC Programs

Reserve Officer Training Corps
Resources for Before and After College

What Are ROTC Programs and How They Work?

ROTC stands for Reserve Officer Training Corps, and this program is offered in 1,700 universities and colleges throughout the US. ROTC helps college students, male and female, to prepare to enter a military career as officers in one of the three branches in which it is offered: Army, Air Force, and the Navy/Marines. The Coast Guard doesn’t have an ROTC program for students interested in a career in this particular military branch.

Students in each branch of the ROTC benefit from scholarships, monthly stipends and a career that is guaranteed after graduation. Students in ROTC also derive benefits from learning how to develop valued leadership skills, discipline and good physical fitness.
