Hello Cougar families,

I hope everyone enjoyed their weekend! It was a great weekend to catch up on some rest while enjoying the fall rain showers.

Please take some time to read through the updates in this newsletter. 

Attendance is a big focus for us this year. As we continue to support and guide our students, we can only do that when they are here. Regular attendance is one of the strongest predictors of student success, and we need our students here, ready to learn, each day. Students- we need you to be here!

Homecoming is also just a few short weeks away! Please take some time to review the Homecoming schedules and information below. One important reminder: if students are participating in float building off of school property, each student must have a signed permission slip. Coaches and group advisors will be distributing permission slips to students this week, so please keep an eye out for them.

Last, but certainly not least, I want to take a moment to acknowledge what a great start to the school year it has been. This is my tenth year in administration, and I can honestly say this has been the best start yet. Thank you for your continued support, patience, and partnership as we work together throughout the 2026–2027 school year. It truly takes all of us working together to make CJSH a great place for our students.

I wanted to share the CJSH parent/student handbook for the 2026-27 school year regarding tardiness:

I also wanted to share a quick update with our families. Over the next two weeks, I will be out on family leave, and throughout October I will be working a limited schedule of three days per week as my family prepares for the arrival of our first child.

While I’m away, Ashley Hoffman, our Student Engagement Coordinator, will be stepping up to assist with student tardies and absences and will be a great point of contact for attendance-related questions or concerns.

For the first two weeks, while I am on family leave, I will not be checking or responding to emails. Beginning October 1, I will return to a limited schedule of three days per week and will respond to emails as I am able on the days I am working.

If your question or concern needs more immediate attention during my leave or on a day I am not working, please contact the CJSH office, and they will make sure your question or concern gets to the appropriate person.

I appreciate your understanding and support during this exciting time for my family. Thank you!

It’s another great week to be a Clinton Cougar! As we move deeper into the fall season, our student-athletes and coaches continue to put in the work, compete with character, and represent Clinton with Cougar Pride.

I want to recognize all of our athletes for the commitment they show each day—not just during competition, but in the classroom, at practice, and in the way they support their teammates. Success in athletics is about much more than the scoreboard. It is about growth, relationships, teamwork, and becoming the best version of ourselves.

Please remember to call the school for all absences, including when your student is arriving late or leaving early. Every minute of the school day is vital, and keeping the office informed ensures student safety and accurate attendance records.

Quick Guidelines for Families

Thank you for your cooperation! 

Please remind your students per our Handbook that they are to bring their school issued Yondr to school every day.  If your student needs a replacement Yondr the cost is $25.00 and they can be purchased in the office. 

Picture retake day is Monday, Oct. 12th. 

Photographers will be here between 8:00am to 9:00am for anyone wanting to have their pictures retaken. 

Attention Class of 2027: please plan to attend our upcoming mandatory class meeting on Tuesday, September 22nd at 11:30 AM in the Aux Gym. This session will focus heavily on ordering your cap and gown and reviewing graduation requirements to ensure everyone is on track for senior year, covering the exact academic milestones you need to hit to walk across the stage. We will also be signing the class gown during this time!

Membership: Every student at CJSH is welcome to join FFA! FFA members need to complete a new membership form every year and pay $20 dues.  Dues should be placed in a labeled envelope and turned into Mrs. Kueter.  

Throughout the 2026-2027 school year, our Work-Based Learning Coordinator will lead Clinton Junior Senior High students on numerous career exploration field trips. These hands-on opportunities give 7th-12th grade students valuable insight into various industries and career pathways.

By completing this form and granting consent, your CJSH student(s) will not be required to submit individual permission slips for every Work-Based Learning career exploration trip they wish to attend this year.

Held from 10 a.m.- 12 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 7, at the Beloit-Janesville Campus, 6004 S. County Road G, Janesville.

ECCP (EARLY COLLEGE CREDIT) or SCN (START COLLEGE NOW) Forms will be due to Mrs Kluge BY 9/25. Applications will not be accepted after 3:15 PM on 10/1.  Students needing forms may pick them up in the counseling office or schedule a meeting with Mrs Kluge via google calendar. 

11th and 12th grade students have the opportunity to attend the Wisconsin Education Fair on October 6th. Interested students can complete the google form in google classroom, permission slips will be due by 9/25. 

Seniors with Direct Admit offers can sign up for a Direct Admit informational meeting during Advisory Flex on Thursday 9/24. Only those with Direct Admit offers will be eligible to sign up.

Seniors the 27/28 Federal Financial Aid Form (FAFSA) officially opens on October 1st. The deadline to apply is June 30, 2028 (early applications are recommended). For more information please check the FAFSA website

If your student is interested in taking the PSAT during Fall 2026, please email Mrs. Kluge at kakluge@clintonwis.com to ensure they are registered for the exam.

The PSAT will be administered on a date to be determined between October 1 and October 30, 2026.

Please note that taking the PSAT is optional and is not a graduation requirement. There is an $18 testing fee, which is the responsibility of the student/family and is not covered by the district.
