4th Grade Transition

4th Grade Transition News April 2016

4th graders will be assigned a Pen Pal in 5th grade. Students will have a chance to write back and forth asking questions they have about middle school life.

Monday, May 23, 2016 - 4th grade students will be introduced to the middle school. It is on this date that the middle school counselor, Susan Read, will be bringing four 5th graders to the elementary school to speak with the 4th graders about middle school life.

Wednesday, May 25, 2016 - 4th grade students will be walking over to the middle school to meet their pen pals, the 5th grade teachers, and go on a tour of the school. Students will also get to experience a middle school lunch hour.

Thursday, May 26, 2016 - From 3:25 - 4:00pm there will be an opportunity for parents, guardians, or relatives of current 4th grade students to meet the 5th grade teachers. Mr. Simmons - CMS principal and Susan Read - CMS School Counselor will also be there to greet you and your child. You will have a chance to take a guided tour compliments of your current 4th grade student. We hope these efforts will help your child and you feel more confident and relaxed about the transition from 4th to 5th grade!
